About this tour

Most visitors to Phu Quoc stay near the beach. This private half-day tour covers the island’s less-visited southern interior — a working pearl farm where you see cultivation and jewellery-making up close, the sobering Coconut Prison (Phu Quoc Prison) where thousands of Viet Cong prisoners were held by the South Vietnamese and Americans during the war, the hilltop Ho Quoc Pagoda with its dramatic sea-view setting, and a pepper plantation to taste the black pepper that has made Phu Quoc famous for centuries. Beaches and a seafood lunch are included.

Itinerary

Pickup at 8:00 AM. First stop: Phu Quoc Pearl Farm — the island's largest pearl cultivation operation. A guide explains how Akoya oysters are seeded, how pearls grow over 2–4 years, and how the finished gems are graded and set. Browse handcrafted pearl jewellery. Continue to Starfish Beach and Cream Beach — two quiet beaches in the south with free time for swimming and photography.

Visit Phu Quoc Prison (Coconut Prison) — a preserved wartime detention camp where over 40,000 prisoners were held at its peak, with reconstructed cells, guard towers, and informational displays. Continue uphill to Ho Quoc Pagoda, a large Buddhist monastery perched on a rocky promontory above the sea — the views from the upper terrace are among the best on the island. Stop at The Peak Phu Quoc hilltop café for a rest. Visit a working pepper plantation to see how Phu Quoc's famous black pepper is grown, dried, and processed, with a tasting of different grades. Finish with a fresh seafood lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel around 1:00–2:00 PM.
Meal: Seafood lunch at local restaurant.
