Three days in a little-visited part of the Mekong Delta where the tourist infrastructure hasn’t arrived yet. The pace is deliberately slow — canal boats, bicycles, village walks, and meals cooked with your hosts. Highlights include a family-run goat farm, a rice polishing factory and rice liquor workshop, a bat sanctuary (optional), harvesting vegetables and catching fish with local families, and the coconut garden that explains why the coconut tree is called the “Tree of Life” in the Delta. Stays are in a local riverside lodge with farm-to-table cooking.
Depart Ho Chi Minh City at 7:00 AM by private car to a hidden region of the Mekong Delta. Check in to the riverside lodge and enjoy a home-style lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring the countryside by traditional boat through peaceful canals and rice fields. Visit a family-run goat farm, walk through rice paddies and lotus ponds, visit a traditional rice polishing factory and rice liquor workshop where local spirits are distilled from sticky rice. Return to the lodge for a regional dinner.
Meal: Lunch and Dinner at the lodge.
Overnight: Local riverside lodge.
Travel by traditional sampan through quiet waterways to visit a local morning market, a peaceful Buddhist pagoda, tropical fruit orchards, and a coconut broom-making workshop where craftspeople split and bind fronds by hand. Optional visit to a bat sanctuary — a grove of trees sheltering thousands of roosting fruit bats that take flight at dusk in a spectacular cloud. After lunch at the lodge, spend the afternoon harvesting vegetables, catching fish, and preparing traditional dishes together with your hosts. Farm-to-table dinner.

After breakfast, discover why the coconut palm is called the "Tree of Life" — a walk through the coconut garden showing how every part of the tree is used: fronds for roofing and brooms, husks for rope and fuel, shells for charcoal and crafts, flesh for food and oil, water for drinking and cooking. Harvest fresh coconuts (season permitting) and drink the water straight from the fruit. Join the hosts in making traditional fresh coconut jelly. Farewell lunch with regional specialties before the afternoon drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
