About this tour

A slow, authentic 4-day journey from Phnom Penh through the Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City — no mass tourism, no shopping detours. Travel by speedboat, private car, bike, and wooden fishing vessel through Chau Doc, Can Tho, and the Cu Chi Tunnels, experiencing Khmer weaving villages, floating markets, local cooking, and river life as locals live it.

Itinerary

Head to the International Floating Port, 103 Sisowath Quay, Phnom Penh at least 30 minutes before departure. The speedboat departs at 12:30 PM and includes snacks, free Wi-Fi, cake, fruits, mineral water, cold towel, restroom, entry/exit fees, and passenger accident insurance.

Arrive in Chau Doc at around 6:30 PM, check in to your hotel, then relax and explore Chau Doc at night.

After breakfast, explore the best of Chau Doc with a private guide:

  • Khmer Weaving Village: Observe traditional hand-weaving — beautiful fabrics traded across the Mekong region.
  • Palm Sugar Village: Watch monks and locals climb palm trees to collect sap and transform it into golden palm sugar. (Rainy season alternative: Trà Sư cajuput forest.)
  • Tà Ngáo Pagoda: A vibrant Khmer Theravāda temple where monks preserve spiritual practices and teach culture, language, and music to children. (Rainy season alternative: Trà Sư cajuput forest.)
  • Lunch at a local restaurant — freshly prepared, tailored to dietary preferences.
  • Hang Pagoda (Phước Điền Tự): A serene Buddhist site nestled into Sam Mountain cliffs, with panoramic views.
  • Floating Fish Farms: Witness daily life on the river; visit the Chăm community and their mosque.

Transfer to Can Tho and check in at a local lodge. Dinner at the lodge.

Complimentary from our company (lodge guests only): Fermented black sticky rice liquor and snakehead fish cake — a regional specialty.
