About this tour

Journey deep into the Mekong Delta\’s living cultures over 5 days. From Ho Chi Minh City you\’ll venture to a community island homestay, drift through Cham Muslim villages by traditional boat, learn to cook with a Can Tho family, and wake to the bustle of Cai Rang Floating Market before returning to the city. Small group, private homestays, local guides throughout.

Itinerary

Pick up from Ho Chi Minh City and travel to Son Islet on the Mekong River — a tranquil community island known for its close-knit local life and eco-tourism experiences. Meet your local host family and settle into your private homestay. Enjoy a home-cooked dinner and the peaceful sounds of the river at night.

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Morning activities on Son Islet: make traditional pop rice (Cốm Nổ) with locals, pick tropical fruits at a riverside orchard, visit a unique floating fish farm, and try a fish massage. In the afternoon transfer to Can Tho and check in to your hotel.

Depart by traditional boat across the Hau River to one of Vietnam's oldest Cham Muslim communities. Taste Tung Lò Mò Halal sausage, explore the village by Xe Lôi rickshaw, visit an ancient wooden house, watch a Rabana drum performance, try Cham cakes, visit the mosque, enjoy an authentic home-cooked Cham lunch, and meet artisan weavers preserving centuries-old brocade traditions. Return to Can Tho by late afternoon.

Spend the day with a local Can Tho family learning to prepare authentic Mekong dishes. Visit the market together to select fresh ingredients, then cook and share a meal at their home. An unhurried day of warm hospitality and hands-on flavors.

Rise before dawn for Cai Rang Floating Market — the delta's most iconic waterborne bazaar. Watch traders exchange fresh produce from boat to boat and enjoy breakfast from a floating vendor. Then visit a family-run rice paper workshop and cruise a quiet canal before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Payment policy
A deposit of 50% of the total tour price is required when booking. The remaining balance can be paid in cash (VND, USD, AUD, or EUR) when you meet your guide at the start of the tour. Foreign currency notes must be in good condition (no tears, wrinkles or markings; denominations of 50 or higher). If you prefer to pay the balance by Wise, Revolut or PayPal, an 8% surcharge applies. Holidays and special occasions: 30–50% surcharge. Transfer fees for deposits are the guest's responsibility.

Cancellation policy
For tours including hotels or pre-booked services: hotel costs and any pre-booked services will be deducted before refunding the deposit.
For tours without accommodation/transport: cancel more than 14 days before departure — 100% deposit refunded; cancel 7–14 days before — 50% refunded; cancel within 7 days — no refund.
Once the tour is in operation, no refund is possible. Transfer fees for refunds are the guest's responsibility.
